MSU studets are also widely educated and trained physically. Physical training and education is a part of the curriculum of all faculties. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students (more than 10.000 people) do physical education. The Chair of physical education and sports has more than one hundred tutors. Among them are more than 20 candidates of science and 40 masters of sports.
Physical education and sports are held at the MSU sports bases, including 12 gyms, 2 swimming pools, 2 ski bases, track and field arena, stadium, baseball stadium, tennis courts, playgrounds. The most physically trained students have the opportunity to enter one of the 32 sports sections. After medical examination at the MSU clinic the students are distributed into groups and sections by the senior sports tutor of the faculty. The MSU sport teams are regular winners or leaders in the games of Moscow Universities.

All men having military registration certificate are to register themselves in the MSU Military registration. After registration the student is issued a F026 certificate to obtain a deferment from the draft. Please note that the registration of the certificate takes 2 weeks, so we recommend not to postpone the procedure. Students from outside Moscow region living in a dorm are to register themselves residentially and in the local military enlistment office.

MSU Faculty of military training
Undergraduate students of conscription age who have passed the competitive selection (rating based on performance and physical training standards), can be trained at the Air Defense Department of the MSU Faculty of military training.
Military training sessions are held on the 3rd and 4th years as a separate course and are finished by a military training (in military camps as well). Participation applications for the course are submitted at the end of the 2nd course to the inspector.
