The Moscow School of Economics at Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov is 18 years old at the end of April 2022!
Our faculty was established by the Order of Moscow University Rector Academician V.A. Sadovnichy, on April 29, 2004, with the active support of the well-known entrepreneur O.V. Deripaska and the Volnoe Delo Foundation, which was headed by T.D. Rumyantseva at that period (currently, E.A. Nikitina is the General Director of the Volnoe Delo Foundation).
The purpose of creating the Moscow School of Economics at Moscow State University was to form a compact structure that would allow the optimal combination of the potentials of academic economics, as well as leading foreign scientists and economists, to implement the educational and research tasks of Moscow University.
All these years, the faculty has been headed by Full Member of RAS A.D. Nekipelov.
For 18 years, MSE MSU has been dynamically developing, new educational programs appear that meet the highest international standards, modern trends and requirements.
Currently, the MSE MSU implements:
- Bachelor’s program in “Economics” (profile – “Economic theory and analytics”),
Master’s programs in Russian:
- “Economics and Mathematical Methods”. The program is being implemented in cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the MSU named after M.V. Lomonosov. The scientific supervisor of the program is Full Member of RAS V.M. Polterovich),
- “Economic and financial strategy” (supervisor – Foreign member of the RAS V.L. Kvint).
- World economy: modern development trends. (supervisors: Corresponding Member of RAS M.Y. Golovnin and Full Professor V.B. Kuvaldin),
Master’s programs in Russian:
- “Global Economics and Finance” (the program is aimed at preparing a qualitatively new generation of professionals who have modern knowledge and key skills in the field of international finance and economics at the level of modern labor market requirements).
- “Economics and Finance” (a joint program with the Slovenian University “Primorska” in Koper, where students study for the first year at the Slovenian University “Primorska” (Koper), And the second year they study at the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov and receive two diplomas from both universities).
The MSE MSU also has a successfully functioning postgraduate school, where both domestic and foreign postgraduate students study under the guidance of academicians, corresponding members and prominent professors of RAS and MSU.
Much of what our faculty has been able to do over the past 18 years has become possible thanks to our Board of Trustees, which is currently headed by Nikolai Petrovich Tokarev, Chairman of the Board, President of Transneft PAO. We are very grateful to all the members of the Board of Trustees for their help and unwavering attention to the life of our faculty.
